IDEA FOR MY PROJECT:
My idea for this project is to purchase some of BriBry's #CutCakeNotWrists wristbands in bulk, and to sell them for $3 each to my classmates, family and friends. As well as this, I will create a website (this is that website!) about BriBry's charity, whilst raising awareness of this cause on various social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and YouTube.

Week One:
Ideas: This was the week that I first viewed BriBry's "To People Who are Depressed" video. I came up with the possible idea of focusing on BriBry's charity but wasn't sure how I would, or what I wanted to do. So I decided to email Bri to ask if I could purchase some of his wristbands he had advertised on Twitter in bulk, possibly to sell them.

Strategies: My first strategy was to go to BriBry's YouTube channel, to see if he had a business email that I could contact him on. Luckily, he did and so I emailed away!
Here was his reply

Evaluation: I felt that I was on my way to starting my project after contacting BriBry! He was extremely helpful and seemed very keen on the idea! I was very excited.

Week Two:
Ideas: I wanted to purchase the wristbands this week so that I could start selling them as soon as possible!

Strategies: I decided to email BriBry to organize a time to purchase the wristbands. Here is another picture of his reply!

Evaluation: I feel this was a successfull move in the right direction! I was about ready to purchase the wrist bands! I just needed to await my next pay to purchase them.

Resources: BriBry on email.

Week Three:

Idea: Today I would actually purchase the wrist bands!

Strategies: After negotiating with BriBry, we decided I would donate $150 (Australian) to his charity via the website http://bribry.bigcartel.com, and he would mail me the wristbands all together. I purchased 50 of them!

Evaluation: This was a successful week, the wristbands were purchased and now I had to wait for them to arrive! (This would take over a month.)

Weeks Four - Six

Ideas: Because I had to wait for such an extensive period of time for the wristbands to arrive, I decided I would promote #CutCakeNotWrists via social media!

Strategies: Changing my headers on both twitter and facebook to #CutCakeNotWrists, and posting status updates about my chosen charity!
Here is a screen shot of my facebook and twitter pages!

as well as this, I also tweeted BriBry and got a reply as well!

Evaluation: Promoting the cause was important these few weeks, because it allows people to become aware of the charity before I actually start selling the bands!

Resources: My Twitter and Facebook, link to twitter provided in the side bar! Give me a follow ;)

Week Seven - Eight:

Ideas: The Wristbands finally arrived! So I needed something to wear whilst selling them...

Strategies: I wanted to make a t-shirt to wear whilst selling the CutCake bands! So I went to the shop Custom Teez http://www.customteez.co.nz/ and had a shirt created for a discounted price of $40!
Here it is!

Evaluation: I am glad that I chose to purchase the shirt! It really helped to promote the cause, and I sold my first 20 wristband over this time span! In all a very effective few weeks!

Week Eight- Now

Idea: To reach my first $100 for CutCake!

Strategies:  I decided to give my sister some bands to sell at her school to her friends, as well as selling some to my Lecturer Tim, and some of my class mates, and would you believe it- I made it to $100! I tweeted BriBry and this was his awesome reply!
(I did have a photo of me selling Tim a wristband, but it seems to have disappeared from my phone)
Evaluation: I am very excited to have reached my first $100 for CutCake! I currently have only 17 bands left! I am hopeful that they will sell very soon so that I can donate back to BriBry :)

PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND:
As I have mentioned many a time on this website, I have chosen #CutCakeNotWrists as my charity because it addresses an issue that is real, and present in our every day lives, and will have affect on a local, community level. It is very important that we focus on not only bigger issues, but the smaller ones as well, and I believe that BriBry's charity does this perfectly!
My background for this assignment comes as an inspiration from my friend Carrie (this is a psyeudonym.) She has suffered depression for an extensive period of time, and she does engage in self harm, and has also thought about suicide, and knowing that someone like BriBry can help her to get better so that we can have her around for a lot longer makes me feel so thankful! If doing this project will help her and inspire her to feel better, then I have done a good thing!

So, that's my overall scope and sequence for this project! I'm pretty happy with my progress thus far :)

Cheers! Remember to follow me on twitter and tumblr if you like my stuff!
